Automechanika Canada’s insightful Seminar and Workshop Program will provide valuable training and education for the automotive aftermarket

Automechanika Canada, September 26 – 28, 2007 at the International Centre in Toronto, ON, is committed to providing industry professionals with quality training and education to better their businesses and to remain competitive in the marketplace.  In addition to hundreds of dynamic products from Canada, the US and around the world, Automechanika Canada has confirmed 13 seminar sessions and 3 workshops to be presented by renowned speakers and field experts.  With the support of Automechanika Canada’s partnering associations, the Seminar & Workshop Program includes a wide array of pertinent topics and valuable training for all industry professionals.  The Seminar & Workshop Program will be held in conjunction with the trade show at the International Centre.

Issues Affecting the Industry
The Automechanika Canada Seminar & Workshop Program focuses on key industry issues in the Canadian marketplace.  “Our goal is to become the industry forum for education, discussions, learning and sharing of knowledge and opinions“, stated Carol Bell-LeNoury, General Manager of Business Information Group.

A few of this year’s hot topics and speakers include the Greening of the Aftermarket Industry with Dennis DesRosiers, industry statistician and expert; Hybrid Technology with North America’s leading hybrid expert, Craig Van Battenberg; Alternative Fuels presented by Alex Drohomyresky of Shell.  In addition, Paul DeGuiseppi with MACS Mobile Air Conditioning Society will present MACS Worldwide’s Best Service Practices and Mike Cleary will instruct professionals on Electronic Engine Control and Ford 6.0L D.I.T. Diesel, Powerstroke Troubleshooting.  We are also excited to have Jim Moore from Delphi presenting on Oxygen Sensor Monitors.  The comprehensive program will provide the training the industry needs and is a crucial component to the Automechanika Canada event.

Keynote Address
Automechanika Canada is pleased to welcome Dave Meunier from Total Automotive Consulting & Training based in Calgary, Alberta as the keynote presenter.  A charismatic and well known speaker, Meunier will present “The Entrepreneurial Dream – Business Management Systems and Procedures that will Profit your Business” on Wednesday, September 26th at 9:00 a.m.  This complimentary keynote session will focus on how to help make shops and businesses more successful by using proven management systems and procedures to increase profitability. 

APRA Sponsored Seminars
The Automechanika Canada association partners have taken a strong lead in the Seminar & Workshop program.  APRA, the Automotive Parts and Remanufacturers Association is sponsoring several sessions and workshops at this year’s event.  Mohommad Samii, APRA’s Coordinator of Electrical Training will present two three-hour workshops on Charging and Starting Systems.  Jasper Engines & Transmissions will also hold two seminar sessions on Transmission and Engine Diagnosis presented by their National Technical Trainer, Jim Davenport.

OTDA Sponsored Seminars
In addition to running their annual conference at the Automechanika Canada Headquarters Hotel, the Ontario Tire Dealers Association (OTDA) is presenting several seminar sessions that address industry issues within the Automechanika Canada Seminar & Workshop Program.  With key speakers including Paul Hyatt from the Tire Industry Association and important subjects such as Right to Repair, TPMS and Nitrogen Tire Inflation, the OTDA seminar sessions are a great addition to the program and a “must see“ for tire industry professionals.

National Collision Repair Workshops
Automechanika Canada is also pleased to host The National Collision Repair Workshops on Thursday, September 27th at the International Centre.  These innovative workshops focus on successful alternative profitability models for collision repair in Canada.  For more information, please visit www.ciia.com.
